Fire Extinguisher Button with combined External Kill Button. In a bad racing incident, you have time to do just 2 things: Trigger the fire system, kill the electrics, and get out in a hurry. Oh wait, that's 3... The good news is that this switch from Cartek can help you cross two of those things off your list at once!
Designed specifically for use with an electrically-actuated fire system and any of the Cartek Battery Isolators, including the Cartek Battery Isolator X (all sold separately), this 2-way pushbutton switch will trigger your fire system and trigger your Isolator, all with a single push.
The switch replaces the cockpit actuation button for your fire system and gets wired in series with the remote actuation buttons for your Isolator (it does not replace the latching interior button for the Isolator). Two separate but simultaneous circuits make momentary contact on one side (fire system) while momentarily breaking contact on the other side (Isolator). Simply connect the red wires to your fire system and the blue wires to your Isolator.
Compatible with all Cartek Battery Isolators and any electrically-actuated fire system that uses momentary-contact remote actuation switches. Red switch includes a red protective ring. Sold individually. Made in the UK for professional racing.
Note that this switch will not cause any of the other Isolator switches to set off the fire system, or vice-versa. We recommend marking the switch with an "E" extinguisher decal and not with an "Off" decal to avoid confusion.
When Fire Extinguisher button is activated - external kill will also be activated killing the engine and isolating the battery.
